Dear Hiring Committee:

Please accept this letter and the attached resume as an indication of my interest in joining your Dental Hygiene Department. After finding this posting on your website, I wanted to write to express my interest in the part time faculty member position.  I have enclosed my resume for your consideration.

Over the past eight years, I have successfully balanced a career practicing as a dental hygienist and a dental hygiene educator. During this time I have re-prioritized my focus and put teaching at the forefront of my career.  As my resume outlines, I offer a number of qualifications that would enable me to become a great asset to the students and the college. I have experience teaching in a clinical dental hygiene setting and have recently earned my Master of Arts in Education from Michigan State University.  During my time in this program I have fine-tuned my teaching practice and can teach in clinical, classroom, online and hybrid settings. I have expanded my knowledge in adult education as well as educational technologies and I have the ability to create new courses within a changing dental hygiene curriculum. I am confident in teaching a diverse group of students while applying the most effective teaching methods and strategies to increase student performance. I consider myself a leader in the dental hygiene profession and I am motivated to take on new initiatives to make your dental hygiene program the best it can be.

I am confident that my formal education, clinical background and teaching experience make me an ideal candidate for this position. Additionally, I believe I can make a lasting difference in the lives of your Dental Hygiene students and shape them into competent practitioners and avid lifelong learners.

I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss in further detail my experience and qualifications.  Thank you in advance for your time and consideration in reviewing this material.  I look forward to speaking with you at your earliest convenience

Respectfully,

Danielle N. Krebs
